WIRTZ and MailingLiebe Order Landa S10P to Move All Business to a New B1 Digital Print Powered Direct Mail Service

Thursday, 14 December 2023

Rehovot, Israel – December 14th, 2023Landa Digital Printing today announces that German direct mail specialist, WIRTZ Druck GmbH&Co. KG, and its brand, MailingLiebe, has ordered a Landa S10P Nanographic Printing® press. The new digital print capability will replace all existing offset and digital printing equipment at its Datteln production facility, enabling customers to benefit from faster time to market, increased variable print opportunities, improved sustainability and higher performing direct mail pieces.

Crucially, the Landa S10P will also enable WIRTZ to boost productivity by utilizing its high-speed capability of 6.500 sheets per hour, while attaining standout colors with absolute consistency. Compared to its existing B2 inkjet color technology, the Landa press’ increased speed and the B1 format will enable WIRTZ to multiply capacity and job ganging, for significant time and money savings.

Mark Schmidt, Managing Director, WIRTZ Druck GmbH& Co. KG comments: “Our brand ‘MailingLiebe’ has a reputation for market leading mailing solutions. We routinely produce out-of- the-box, complex designs that stand out and lead to increased consumer interaction with increased customer sales.

“Our customer base and their prospects are trending towards a younger age group. They demand more powerful mailings that integrate smartly with other communication channels and are environmentally friendly. This is why we were interested in the Landa press.”

Replacing its offset presses that currently support 75% of jobs, the Landa S10P will be critical to meeting customer demand for reduced inventory, by leveraging its waste minimization and high print capacity benefits. What’s more, and considered a gamechanger for the business, customers will utilize unlimited personalization opportunities for the first time. This will be achieved by the Landa S10P’s ability to provide variable content anywhere on the sheet, significantly increasing direct mail recipient engagement.

“The Landa press is a crucial purchase for us. It will take our service offering to the next level and enable customers to provide much more sophisticated and successful direct mail campaigns,” continues Mark Schmidt. “And for customers, there is no compromise to achieve it. They will receive the same high-quality product and service they are used to – in some cases with better print and color quality – but with many additional benefits.”

One of those benefits is greatly enhanced sustainability performance from the Landa press. According to WIRTZ, this is delivered by a number of elements including tailored print runs, water- based inks, reduced energy consumption and job set-up with virtually zero waste.

Established in 1889 by Vinzenz Wirtz, WIRTZ is now in its fifth generation of management, headquartered in Datteln, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. Employing over 100 people, the business is seeing rapid 30% year-on-year growth. Roughly 20 years ago, the business pivoted to specialize in mailing solutions only, and currently has an equipment portfolio including one offset press and four digital technologies. The Landa S10P will replace all existing equipment, supporting jobs of all run lengths.

Mark Schmidt continues, “In moving all work to the Landa press, we can streamline the production process and drive huge efficiency savings. In addition, because the S10P is B1 and uses common handling systems, it should be familiar to our teams – ensuring faster training and enabling us to produce commercial jobs much, much quicker.”

Sharon Cohen, Chief Business Officer, Landa Digital Printer, comments, “We warmly welcome WIRTZ to the Landa family. They have a great business, and we know that the Landa S10P will be transformative in unlocking its vision and delivering breakthrough services. Collaborating with leading brands and major corporations – including L’Oreal, Armani and TUI Cruises – as well as small to medium-sized enterprises, WIRTZ delivers exceptional direct mailings that enhance the success of its customers.”
